About Me

Materials

I  love working with glass because of the way it interacts with light to create colours, shades and refractions. Fusing glass is not a perfect science and I am always excited by unexpected reactions which add an organic dimension to every firing.

Inspiration

I find inspiration while walking on the South Downs, by the sea or tending my garden; by the way light shines through leaves or by the intricate patterns inside a flower.

Working process

I have been working with glass since 2000. Having started in stained glass I moved on to fusing, experimenting with large sculptural pieces. I then developed my interest in resin because of its versatility, range of colour and translucence and have recently been combining glass and resin in jewellery. I regularly attend courses at the UK centres of excellence, Liquid Glass and Warm Glass, which have included stained glass and fusing, painting with light and working with resin.

Exhibitions

I regularly exhibit in the Brighton Open House Festival and have established a permanent presence in the Brighton Artists' Quarter, Arch 242 King's Road Arches. I have taught in Community Adult Education and run private classes from my studio.
