About Me

I  love working with glass because of the way it interacts with light to create colours, shades and refractions. Fusing glass is not a perfect science and I am always excited by unexpected reactions during fusing which add to the organic sense of my art.

I find inspiration while walking on the Southdowns, walking by the sea or tending my garden; by the way light shines through leaves or by the intricate patterns inside a flower.

I have been working with glass for fifteen years. Having started in stained glass I developed my glass jewellery using dichroic glass moving on to experiment with fusing large sculptural pieces. I then developed my interest in resin because of its versatility, range of colour and translucence and have recently been combining glass and resin in my jewellery. I have studied courses in stained and fused glass, painting with light and working with resin.

I regularly exhibit in the Brighton Open House Festival. I have been teaching Fused Glass in Community Adult Education for nine years and run private classes in glass fusing and stained glass in Brighton.

Have a look at my News page to see details of where I am exhibiting my glass in 2015.
